Cathedral Easter Convention
Cathedral Easter Convention is approachign fast. It will be held at the Cathedral on Good Friday afternoon from 2-5pm. It's on Justification. Phillip Jensen & Ian Powell are speaking on the theology of Justification & Expounding Romans 3. Should be a great day.
If you are going to be in Sydney for Easter (and we ought to be), it is a great opportunity to spend the afternoon reflecting upon the significance of Jesus' death. Cost is $15 at the door ($10 concession). Plan on making a day of it. The Good Friday gathering is on at 10am at the Cathedral, so those of us from The Bible Talks that make it in will meet together afterwards (near the glass door at the entrance to the Upper Chapter House) and then head down to Chinatown for some lunch before coming back for the Convention at 2pm.

Just For Starters
Commencing 30 March for 7 weeks on Sunday afternoon just before TBT, we'll be running Just For Starters, which are 7 studies designed to ground the Christian in the faith. If you feel that you are not quite sure what the fundamentals of the Christian faith are, or would like a refresher, then this series is for you.
Just for Starters, (or 'The 7 Basic Bible Studies' as it is sometimes known) looks at what the Bible teaches on seven fundamental topics: Saved by God, Trusting in God, Living God's Way, Listening to God, Talking to God, Meeting with God's family, Meeting the World.

NOTHING BUT: Living worthily in Christ
Last night we began our series in Colossians, with our Pastor Mike Turner preaching his first sermon.
We saw that Colossians 2:6 summed up Paul's purpose in writing to them:
People were struck by:
* The gospel hallmarks of faith, hope and love
* Faith, hope and love – now and forever. The mark of the Christian.
* The opportunities we have to seek to serve one another!
* The need to ensure we are worthy Christians, living and walking in the gospel.
* Faith, hope and love are a gift from God – not works
* A great insight into the gospel deluxe and its sufficiency
May Paul's prayer for the Colossians indeed be our prayer for one another:

May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.
